7:00pm Worship with Communion and a Tenebrae Service
How do the things we say and do proclaim the love of Jesus in our world?
Tenebrae is Latin for "shadows" or "darkness" and is a Christian religious service celebrated during Holy Week, before Easter. Tenebrae is distinctive for its gradual extinguishing of candles while a series of scriptures are read. The purpose of the service is to recreate the betrayal, abandonment, and agony of the passion of Christ, and it is left unfinished, because the story isn’t over until Easter Day.
