Guidelines for Lehigh Valley W.O.M.E.N.
Approved by Union UCC W.O.M.E.N. on November 19, 2006
- Meetings will be held bi-monthly (every two months) and successively at each host congregation's facility will include supper (sensitivity to dietary requirements will be observed) and presentation and/or discussion topic. Covered dish to be provided by each participant; host congregation to provide beverage and dessert.
- Example: Our first meetings might include presentations of each host congregation's expressions/doctrines of faith (in their daily lives, in places of worship, and at home), history, etc. With our 6-8 faiths represented and meetings every two months, this will complete the first year or so!
- Proposed date/time: Sunday evenings, 6-8 or Saturday evenings, 7-9
- At each meeting, the NEXT host congregation will propose their topic for discussion or an activity (e.g., drumming circle?) which will be voted on/approved by the whole group at the previous meeting. Consideration will be given to sensitive religious/cultural/political/racial/gender issues.
- Hosting group to coordinate date and time and invitations.
- Hosting group to coordinate meals (respectful of various food laws of all participants), if provided; or just coffee and cake are acceptable too!
- Our banner (UUCC to supply banner with logo) to be displayed at each meeting. The banner will be our uniting symbol.
Ground rules for meetings : (all groups – pls feel free to add to this)
